I have been seeing a BLACK/BLACK Z06 buzzing around town, but yesterday as was i driving around in the 70 454 i saw it coming up behind me so pulled over and he pulled up along side me.After we exchanged "nice vette" to each other i asked him how he liked the Z06,and he told me he was a long time C3 owner but after seeing the new Z06 he had to have one.He told me it is everything you hear and read and then some.I could not stop admiring the looks and the unbelieveable stance of the car.As he pulled away and that rumble came out of that exhaust all my 11 year old son, already in awe,( a huge corvette guy already),could say was ....WOW...JERRY
Indeed, the new Z06s are simply amazing cars. The regular C6 is beautiful, but I saw a Victory Yellow Z06 at the dealership and about fainted. INCREDIBLE car, no doubt about it. One of the best looking cars I've ever seen for sure...of course, performance is just insane for the price too
My first sighting was last year at sebring. I sat in it and looked at it and even saw the chassis. I don't really like it that much. Anyone can buy a car that is fast and handles good.

I've seen 2 C6 Z06's in real life, and I'd love to have one. On the other hand, I wouldnt trade a C3 of equal value for one. I would, however, trade my 79 all day long and twice on Sunday for one!
Ha hah! But this is a big deal for us non-rich people!!! I had to wait for all these years to be able to buy what I always wanted, my 70!!! But I agree, I love the new Z-06, but I would not trade my 70 for it. Just wish I could park them side by side in my garage!
if only the z06 had a convertible model. See a handful around my house with all of the professional athletes and generally rich people. Who knows, maybe when my '70 goes up enough in value, and the Z06 goes down (not likely anytime soon) in value, I can slide into one virtually free. I think i'd rather have a magnetic red convertible C6 though.
The 2006 Z06 really is as good as the press it is getting... Maybe better. The car does everything well, but to be honest, there is no way you can safely approach the limits of this car on the street. Sort of ironic really... GM has finally built a world class supercar and most owners are never going to experience what the car is actually capable of.
Of course, the one area that the new Z06 can't compete with the older cars is that "feel" you can only get driving a vintage sports/muscle car... And in the case of older Corvettes, they are still very impressive performers to this day.
I like the performance of the Z06, but the styling and overall looks are disappointing. Where is the outrageous, ultra cool design that embodies everything that Vettes used to stand for? The design of the first C3s literally made people stop in their tracks and stare when they were first on the streets. That design gave Vettes a soul. You don't get that from a C6 Vette. In fact, it's hard to tell a Viper from a C6 when looking from the side. They are too much like a bar of soap...
the z06 is truly awesome. i ponder selling my c3 just to get one all the time. but the insane dealer markup simply makes this impossible for real people. and id never get back what ive invested in my car anyhow. why does gm or any manufacturer let dealers mark cars up so high? or at all for that matter?!? my tacoma will be paid off in a year, so maybe ill let someone else take the big hit and get one next year! i wonder how much hp a standard coupe with a supercharger would have?

I remember when the ZR-1's first came out. The first year, 1990, the dealers were getting $100,000...(25k over list). They did that because more people wanted them than G.M. could make. Now they are going for low 20's. Free enterprise and market value. It is not hard to get a super-charged C6 to the 600 hp level. It's only money....
Every day that goes by, our C3's increase in value. Every day that goes by, the C6's , even the Z06's depreciate. Right now, a bread and butter C2 is worth more than a C5 Z06. All you need is patience and hopefully to live long enough.
