Stock is boring to me, why have a sports car that will get beat by a stock 4cylinder Honda IMO. Depends on the owner, but I CAN see how someone would want a stock car.
Though I like my car appearing stock with hidden mods (internal like cams, heads, etc.
No mods that can't be returned to stock if so wish.

I think I would have used the term "stock" over "correct" - the latter has a lot of inherent bias...
I didn't make up the term....in fact, the forum has an entire section called Factory Correct Restoration. The NCRS uses the term as well. Am I using the term incorrectly? If I am, I apologize. Chances are, I'll be going the modified route, so I certainly would never have meant to offend.
I'm too ignorant to do it through NCRS, but I guess I wanted to keep that option open. My car was numbers matching (and it still is), but I have set a rule for myself that it would "appear" stock. I've installed a Street & Slalom package from VB&P because the handling was paultry.
Aside from things like that ...the rest is stock as close as is possible (I know that my putting in some stainless steel bolts makes it non-NCRS [or my ignorance tells me] but, I'm not fixing it up to have it rust out before I'm done.
Modified for me. I like to put on a few touches that the factory was too cheap to do. But, like an earlier post said...if it has chrome bumbers I might not. Larry
Don't let the chrome bumpers stop you! Just rip 'em off!
