Because when I was four, my favourite of my 100-plus Hotwheels was the '77 Vette (the '79 is close enough!).
Because the C3 is the coolest car ever built.
Because it's fun to drive my wife insane.
Because the only way you can put "boring" and "C3" in the same sentence is when you're giving it's engine block room for bigger pistons.
Because my favourite Vette happening to be the most affordable Vette is an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
Because I want to make the thousands of people who say "C3s are no good for drag racing" look stupid.
Because I'll never have to listen to more than one passenger at a time tell me I take corners like a maniac.
BECAUSE IT'S BEEN MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE CAR SINCE I WAS OLD ENOUGH TO WALK!!!!

I did it because my son wanted one and couldn't afford it. When I found a real steal, I thought I would buy it, drive it for a while and then let him buy it from me. Unfortunately, I found I liked it a lot. It is now my daily driver and has a number of upgrades so I can be competitive in autocross.

Does anybody remember a print or something that I think was in Car & Driver probably late 70's early 80's that was a picture comparing(silhouetting) a C3 to woman's shape. I seem to remember there being three prints another compared a car to wine bottle or something like that. Sure wish I could fing that pic. Certainly explains why us guys like C3's!!!!!

For myself it is simple well kinda lol. It is not for others to look at or give a thumbs up or really any kind of acknowledgement at all. It is all for self gratification of years gone by. To feel once again a ground pounding BIG BLOCK going through side pipes and the shake of the car as the engine turns over and to hear the sound of the solid lifters as they sing there little song to smell the blended fuel the beast consumes and to scare the gee willekers out of anyone near bye and to be as un politically correct as possible with no apologies given or offered. For this is my Dr. my Drug my Passion that we know and Love as Horse Power and CORVETTE. Hence my screen name SHAKERATTLEROLL
