If you open a page (any page) and it's not fully laoded yet (the bottom part...thanks google ads ) and you click something in the menu bar an error occurs. It has happened to me multiple times now, when clicking on the "my recent topics"
Obviously this bar is a javascript code that pops up the drop down menu. Well..there's an error in the code that if the page isn't fully loaded gives the problem. Before it used to result in a 404 opening url javascript: and then nothing..not a big problem. However now it opens (where x is nothing just a post number):
the neat thing about this is that it throws itself into a javascipt:window.open loop... meaning it opens a gazillion pages!!!
The only way to kill it is to ctrl-alt-del and in the process manager kill iexplore.exe
this is getting really annoying as it bogs down everything to the point where the ystem becomes unstable (I had it open about 400 pages ion the blink of an eye)
I hate java..I don't even have the java virtual machine installed but this whole javascript deal is standard in most browsers....this never happened before the forum was updated. Try it, load a new page and before it's fully loaded click away at the my recent topics thing...wanna bet you get the invasion of the internet explorer too.
100% positive, no virus, trojan, spy ware. It's a javascript loop where it opens a new window and the new window instructs to open a new window...and so on....and so on
I've noticed that before, even before the forum upgrade. I don't get the infinite loop syndrome, however - just a java error message. Running the older 1.0.7 reduced-bug Firefox...
