That is an example of a guy that did not follow NCRS recommendations.
Modifications like that must be avoided. Thanks to God that many of us follow NCRS recommendations.

i don't think they made convertibles in 76. isn't that an 80-82 rear bumper with the molded in spoiler?

This thread reminds me of a story my momma told me about 6 blind guys positioned around an elephant. They were not allowed to walk around it, they could only describe it by whatever they felt in front of them..... Well you get the picture.....'71....'82....'76....

The rear end is from an 80 - 82.
The front from a pre-80.
The center console looks late 60s - early 70s.

Maybe 1971 is the average age of all the parts.

An L-81 was a 1981 350 with a ground sprinkling 190 hp legal for all 50 states. Whoo hoo - let's go race a Chevy Citation!!

It has more hoses than a ***** house. It's choked with emmisions, but it was all they had in 1981. No other engines were offred in 1981. An L-81 was all you could get.

I think this is a 1981 that Brunno and Co put together from leftovers. Alex musta hit the 7 instead of 8 on the big keyboard.

The interior and engine bay are 1971. The exterior body parts look cobbled together from various years. Probably was in a wreck.

No verts in '76. No Wiper door, hood and side vents are 73-79 style, 75-79 front bumper, 80's rear bumper. Vents on rear deck, 75 was the last year for those. In absence of a vin I'd hae to say its a '75. And it has the '75-'76 front emblem.

Well, it definitely looks like its a bastardized car from various years. As someone else said, it probably was in an accident.

That is NOT an 81 - the interior has the "Map Pocket" where the glove box would be on an 81, the steering wheel is wrong. Center console is the wrong configuration. The Nose is from a pre-80 with the fake bumpers. Could be a 79 rear end- Corvette script is WRONG for an 81. The engine bay is the wrong configuration for an 81 L81 as well. All I can say is this is "One messed up Hybrid".

Should have advertised it as a one-of-a-kind.

Looks like a 79 front and 80 rear to me. I'm one of those bastards thats going to put an 80 rear on my 79 I like the look of the 80 molded spoiler compared to the 79 pace car bolt on

You gotta admit ... he did a pretty good job piecing that back together...
regardless of how many years are combined.

Yes - mine is 70 + 75 = looks like 73 (but my VIN is 70)
IF I ever sold it (I would never), then I would have to say it is a 70.

Youz guyz should stop picking the body apart and start coming down
on the "Edelbrock engine" ... no doubt just valve covers and air cleaner.

Maybe its not a corvette at all, HAS ANYONE thought of that, I think we are all being fooled by a communist ploy to sell more "rustangs" on ebay!!! If you investigate further, you can tell it has vette body panels slapped on a ------GET THIS-------1982 RUSTANG GT!!!! You see, rustangs cant sell that easily on ebay, so they have to disguise them as vettes just to get people interested....Man, the lengths these people will go to!!!
