I'd agree. I think that Z-man may have guessed right. Probably a wreck. Most of the body looks to be 80-82. Interior looks to be early 70's. The VIN may well be from a '71. A close look at the frame would likely tell the tale. I'd bet that the front horns have either been straightened or replaced.

I'd love to see if it travels straight down the road or at a 10 degree angle.
