Default Front end noise

Anybody else have a front end "clunk" when backing up? My 71 seems to always have done this, even after a complete front end rebuild and alignment. I notice it when I'm backing out of the garge in the morning and turning the wheel to the left. I've been too lazy to put it back up on the lift and pull the front tire. Doesn't effect handling any. It also makes a noise that sounds like brake pads moving when stopping sometimes (normal pedal pressure). I have the VBP calipers with the "O" rings. Any helpful hints or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks, thought it was something simple. I'll go back in and tighten the castle nut again. I thought torqued everything down, but I did the right side last, so fatigue could be a factor. Thanks again.
