New windshield is in
Pretty cool:
I called home to ask my wife to pull the vette back into the
garage - due to a line of rain storms coming in.
She answered the phone at the same time my youngest son Sam (10) did.
After asking Kim to do me a favor, Sam blurts out that he is outside
sitting in the vette right now. He offered to drive it in, arguing that
he can reach the pedals just fine. Thinking back, I wonder why I
told him where the keys were. Oh well ... heading home to see.
Windshield was done by Triumph Glass, after I talked the guy's ear off.
He assured me that he would either do it himself or send another
seasoned installer. The guy who did it has 22 years experience.
I told him all I care is that he gets the installed height correct.
He says " If I can't get it right with 22 years, I'll have to send over the
new guy with 6 months under his belt.". I assured Brian that I trusted
his experience much more. We'll see how/what he did to maintain height.
It seems every C3 I look at lately has the windshield squashed down.
I need a new windshield as well.... ours cracked when we had the body off.. its not terrible, and hasnt propogated any more, but its broken. I'm also afraid of what lies under that trim on top. rocker channels and such were repaired, but we never dug into the top of the cage...
next winter....
next winter....
