Default Bigbuffer calling BIG632 for the last time

Anyone’s who visit this forum see immediately that we all have one point in common. We all have a passion for our Vette. Each one of us try to make it pretty and fast. When we see an opportunity to improve it we go for it. We don't care about the efforts or the price we will pay for it.

Last December I saw in this forum a great custom Gas door for my 1980Vette. Big632 did a great job and offer a real high quality product for a good and honnest price. With no hesitation, I sent the money order to Big632 with the hope I would receive by end of January 2006 my piece of art. After +/- one month, I sent a PM to Big632 asking for a status. He said that he was experiencing technical difficulties and he needed some time to fixit. I said to myself "hey man ! you can wait some time there is still four feet of snow outside, so the Vette can wait a little more". So I patiently waited with the hope I would eventually receive a msg from Big632 with the good news.

After a while, I sent an another msg to Big632 asking again for a status. Response from him was “ I still have problems with the adjustment and I need time to fix it.” Big632 as a very conscientious person insisted to deliver only final product that is perfect. I said to myself " hey man! you can wait some time there is still two feet of snow outside so the Vette can wait a little more" After all, I can just have respect for a man who insists to deliver quality products. It is so rare in this world today to see somebody who still takes time to make things well. So I decided to trust again Big632 and wait. Time passed and snow started to melt down more and more till I started to see some grass outside. Each year at this period I start to have my Vette fever. I asked again to Big632 a status and got again the same explanation for the delay with a little bonus of hope. As soon the adjustment problems were to be resolved I was the first one on his list to receive my gas door.

Man! this hard worker has really no luck with this damn adjustment and he seems to work so hard to fix it regardless the fact that this gas door business is just a side job for him. Again I decided to wait and be patient. After all, what a right I have to be so impatient when at least another member of this forum wait his gas door since July 2005!!!!
I said myself “ man! you are not cool! there is others that has been waiting for much longer than you ! So stop to complaint and wait for your turn”.

Last March, in this forum I found out in one tread that BIG632 was in a middle of a divorce and he had to take care for his two kids first. I felt really sorry for the man and I understood his priority changes. I was whiling to wait again but in exchange I was expecting some sort of understanding and respect from Big632. I was not expecting him to treat me like a priority # 1 but just few words to let me know. I am 49 and from the old school and I think that when you deal and do business with public, you need to maintain some form of credibility if you want to continue to do business. A reputation is something hard to build and maintain and so easy to lost. This said, I sent 3 PM to Big632 lately with no response. I know that BIG632 logon to this forum at least once a day because I can see the date and time of his last activity in his forum profile.

Now today, I have to face reality that I don’t like at all. First my chance to get this great gas door for my vette vanishes every day and second, I don’t expect anymore to see the color of my money. I have been not lucky with this gas door order. Other members of this forum had their gas door and I am happy for them. They can be proud of the look of their Vette because after all, BIG632 did a great job and a high quality product based on the pictures I saw at www.big632.com.

To conclude this long letter I would be curious to find out how many of us are still waiting after their gas door and for how long. If we are allot, I suggest that we could get all together around virtual beers and and we could discuss about how great our Vette could have been if only we would had the luck to have also our gas door .

PS to BIG632: If you read this msg , I still wish you good luck and sincerely hope that things for you and your kids will get better in the future. I will not send you anymore any PM asking for a status. I do my mourning today of my BIG632.COM gas door and to take back one of your sentences "... Damn this sucks"

Damn, That DOES suck! I personally have had very good luck with the people on the forum buying and selling quality parts at fair prices. Good luck!

Big632 posted a few weeks ago about having some major troubles at home. He and his wife are separated and he's away from his shop, IIRC.

Yes I mentionned this fact in my long letter IIRC but what does it cost to send a one sentence

I've been through the same situation as BIG632. I think he deserves a little understanding. Unless you have been there its hard to understand how hard it is when you loose everything you care for (wife, kids, home and maybe even the Vette). I'm sure your whining, sniveling post is the least of his worries right now.

i dont understand why people respond to other peoples posts and trash talk people and then get all upset when the person that they offended sets them in their place. i think it is so funny to see people trash talking on the forum and i would love for someone to say something like in another post of mine to my face. i didnt see anything wrong with Bigbuffer's original post and i think he was being very nice and he is just a little fustrated just like i was when i ended up waiting almost a year if i remember right. and again for Bigbuffer i know you will be really happy with the gas lid once you get it just like i was. i am starting to feel like im in rush hour traffic when i get on here with all the frigin keyboard tough guys.

Sorry you see it as trash talking. I just thought the "I do my mourning today of my BIG632.COM gas door" in the original message was a bit much. Especially in comparison to what BIG632's loss is right now. Bigbuffer's chances of getting his gas door eventually are a lot better than BIG632 getting his former happy life back.

My beef is not with Bigbuffer. He put it very nicely, didn't insult anyone and yes he spent the money and is looking for it or the gas cap.
My beef is with AlCherry a nobody on the forum who comes out of the woodwork and calls Mike Stupid. Mike has earned his place on this forum and the right to some respect.
AlCherry on the otherhand is some newcomer , contributes very little and trashes someone he doesn't know.
People earn respect on the forum and the vultures come out when that person is down.
AlCherry don't flaunt your background to me you are a nobody that should show Mike respect.
Agian Bigbuffer I feel for you, you complained in a courtious, fashion and showed respect at the same time.
I hope Mike resolves his problems and gets your gas cap out to you.
I have one and his work is first class.
Bigbuffer if you don't receive the cap or money back drop me a line and I will contribute/send a cheque for $20 AM. I owe Mike .

I do agree with you Kid Vette my selection of the word "mourning" in my conclusion was a bit too much so let say that I remove it. As you can see english is not my primary language and I try my best to communicate with all of you in english so we can share are common passion. This said, I do know very well that BIG632 gas door is GREAT. I have no doublt in my mind about this. What frustrate me a little is the fact that I always had reply from Big632 of something that would come in a week or two after the standard one month period. If all of you tell me that you waited to get your gas door 6 to 12 months then it is OK I have a clear picture and I won't set any expectation and I will wait.

people have their own problems............which dont concern others................business and personal issues are like apples and oranges............if someone ...no matter who it is, agrees to do business with some one else his responsibility is coming thru on his end of the bargain with said item/service........not to sell you excuses..........if not refunds are in order if you cant at least give the man an explanation for not conducting business in a professional manner............. im new here................but this is just common knowledge if you ask me.........thats why they are called ''PERSONAL PROBLEMS"........thanx for the warning..........

And this has about 0% to do with this topic...apart from that, it was not bustin off the car, it was just tapping the throttle in a small puddle of water to see if the traction control was kicking in...

irrisponcible is entering a thread with a comment just to heat up the fire, did you buy a lid and are you waiting on one? If not, stay out of the conversation please

I don't mind waiting for a quality bult custom piece, but what gives???

Has anyone else had the same problem?

First off thanks for putting my name on here ,that has real class. For the billet doors there were issues, they got resolved.Sent 3 three out friday,Then I got served for divorce and booted.Doors and my car are now trapped in my garage. Also limited access to my computer with all contact info.Hopefully this gets taken care of immediately but quite frankly is not my first priority. To be honest my wife has lost it and I have two small boys that have been thrown for a loop. 15 years and bang out of nowhere. Now I know what blindsided means.Everyone will get taken care of but I need to get personal business handled first at this time.Nothing like spilling your personal life to the world.Damn this sucks.

Yes, I have E-Mailed Mike of Big632 every month for the past year and have failed to get responses on the last two E-Mails. Mike has NEVER written to me explaining why there was a delay. It was always, I would write him and wait for a response.
Yes, I ordered my cap in JULY 2005 (NO, that is not a typo). Paid via a check that was promptly cashed by Big632. Every time that I inquired as to the delivery date of the gas cap I would recieve another reason as to why that have not been delivered. Maybe Mike has fallen onto hardships and is having a tough time with his personal life. But, there are several Forum Members who have been given the run around for the past year (well prior to his marital situation).
ALL I AM SAYING IS BE HONEST. THIS WORLD IS FULL OF TOO MANY CHEATERS, THIEVES, and FRAUDS (not that I am calling Mike any of these). The reason I bought from a Forum Member is because I have been screwed on E-Bay and thought I would be able to trust another Vette Owner that belonged to this Forum.
If he can not deliver the parts or issue those who have purchased a full refund, then step up and say so. I work hard for my money and would just like to know who I can trust and who I can not.
Thank you to those who have voiced their opinions here. I know alot of you have written to me and inquired as to whether you were the only ones not recieving your gas cap from Big632.
Mike, Just be HONEST, that's ALL!

Most of the whiners here are n00bies.

Mike is a stanup guy here, he's got a lot on his plate right now and I wouldn't want to trade places.
