comments on em?
I wouldnt do it, I think most that do end up swapping them back after they come to their senses.

Good luck either way!

no real good reason to convert to electric. Think about it, the vac operated one has been workin on your car for how long? 25 years? Slap on some new hoses, cleanup the buckets and your good for another 25 years. Even on a humpy cam low vac engine, they will come up slow but lock in place when they get there.

Tired of DIM LIGHTS?

Put these lights in - They convert the 4 bulbs to 4 special cases. In these cases you can put standard hallogen or xenon type bulbs, the same bulbs that fit in modern cars. You can put xtreeme white, blue, etc.

I put 65 watt low beams and 105 watt high beams in my Vette. I also put in a relay system, as the stock wiring probably can't supply sufficient juice to the new bulbs. Simply put, I installed a relay on the low beam wire, and a relay on the high beam wire. When you turn on the headlights, the voltage from that triggers each relay, which has a bigger wire with fusable link straight to the battery. I only use the stock wiring to tell the relays to turn on the lights, which use the new bigger wire to light the light.

The old wiring system in the Vette doesn't produce enough voltage or wattage to light the new lights, and another consideration is you might overheat the old wires if you use them straight to the new bulbs. That could cause a fire or melted wires.

Now I got headlights. Damn do I got light. Just finished all this tonight.

Check out the Hella website, and see what ya think.

Thanks to all the other guys in this forum to come up with this collective headlamp solution.

Didn't I read somewhere on the forum that someone installed aircraft landing lights as their high beams? Talk about some extra light, Day-um! I'm surprised their local airport tower doesn't try to contact them and get them onto runway two-five-left!

they were on my car when I got it. Besides the fact that they don't throw light well and look stupid, people constantly keep telling you to put your lights up. I got pulled over and got in an argument with a cop who was telling me to put my lights up.

I have 'em, love 'em and will not be changing back to pop ups.

They are lighter, I put H4's in there so brighter, and I got rid of the damn vacuum system.

If fixed lights where good enough for the original corvettes (and the latest) and good enough for the L88 race cars...then they are good enough for me.

Although I did repaint the original doors and bezels with the new color in case I do want to go back at some point.
