Default Where are 1982 Option codes located?

Being a C5 guy, not sure where to look for the option codes for the 1982's. They are posted in the glove box on the C5's, but need some help on where to look for them on the 82's. Found an 82 I might be interested in, but I want to have them send me the option codes so I can match them up in the Corvette Black Book to make sure that it has all the options I am looking for--that is what few options there are for an 82. Thanks in advance!

On the build sheet on the top of the gas tank if it is still there.

Or the window sticker if available.

Hey Craig...as others stated, they don't exist on the C3's...easy to find on the C5 huh?

The build sheet is your best bet. Sort of a crap shoot before that. I was skeptical about my alum wheels and glass tops until I got the build sheet 'cause she has so few other options - no power seat, power door locks, rear window defog, power antenna...I look at it this way though, fewer things to break.

You'll love the lines of the '82...won't quite get up and go like the C5 but oh those lines! IMHO the '80 - '82s are a work of art

Thanks everybody for the info. I guess I will ask and see if they happened to keep the window sticker. Oh, another question, do 82's have retracable shoulder belts? In the pictures they sent, it only looks like it has non-retracable lap belts. Yes, I love the looks of the 82, and since my 2000 is a Hardtop like your Z06, I am looking forward to being able to take the top off and drive around with my son. Also, does the 82 feel like a dog compared to the C5? I am putting down around 420RWHP after my heads and cam, so I know 200hp at the crank is not going to feel near like that, but hopefully with the tall first gear is will still pull hard.

Thanks again,
Craig

If you have the VIN# you may be able to get a copy of the window & build sheet from the National Corvette Museum. As far as comparing the C3 with a C5 no way technology marches on..However, with the C3 you will get an arm out the window cruiser you cannot beat for looks. It has only one retractable belt much like a C5.

Great idea about contacting the NCM for the window sticker and buildsheet. I got laminated copies of them for my C5, so I should have thought about that for the 82. I thought the belt was just a normal lap/shoulder combo, but in the pics they sent it clearly shows the lap belt just laying on the floor, but otherwise the interior looks flawless. I guess I will have to get some closeups sent, as they are in California, and I'm in Florida. Thanks again!

Yes the car feels like a dog - no hiding that - compared to a C5. However, the car is rated (on paper...) at 200HP AND 285 ft lbTq. That torque number is pretty big for '82 and IMHO you can really feel it. All and all they are good stop-light cruisers and ride like a Caddy on the road. Drive 300 miles - feels like 30! Bonus, they almost get as good of mileage as our C5's. Mine turned 26 MPG on a straight Hwy run from Hsv to BG two summers ago...routinely turns 18 in town.

As other's posted, see if you can get a VIN and then hit the NCM website for a build sheet...$25 I think. Other than owner history you'll have no idea what came on the car.

Good luck, let us know if you have any other questions/concerns about the '82...someone on this side (C3) knows the answer. Post the pics here if you want...I'm sure we can steer you in the right direction
