Default C3 Battery mount

I am a new owner of a 1974 convertible. I am wondering if these cars ever had a factory battery "hold down" inside the compartment behind the seat. If there was not a factory hold down, has anyone ever added something to secure it better?

There should be a simple clamp and bolt at the bottom of the battery. I for one don't bother using it.

Tony - Thanks for the advice. I may try to fab up something that is a little less "Bubba - like." Most of the work that has been done on my car before I purchased a year or so ago was done to a good standard, so I am not sure why the battery compartment was overlooked.
