Ok, so I just got a good deal on a Kenwood EZ-500 off eBay. What will I need to wire it correctly? I looked on Crutchfield and they don't offer any harness for my vehicle (72 coupe)...help?
Will I just have to cut the wires connecting the current tape deck and splice them with the wires from the CD player or what?
Also, I'm going to buy the bezel to for a clean installation, and I know I have to cut the original bezel...but just how is the new bezel attached? Sorry for the stupid question...

I just completely rewired it straight to the speakers. Not very hard to do and helped clean up the old wires. If you do just cut into the old wires I would recommend soldering the wires, you don't want them coming lose.

What about the antenna and wires not connected to the speakers, i.e. power wire?

Your antenna will likley plug right into the back of the new CD player (mine did and I have a 73) so no splicing there. As for power, you will need a multimeter to find the ground, a constant 12v source and a switched 12v source and hook those up to the appropriate wires on the CD player per the wiring diagram.

Just in case you still need help. cut the old plug off the wire setup for the radio (keep it) then use the wire setup off the new CD player & splice together. it should be easy to setup the front & rear speakers then the two hots. (one full time for clock & one turn on w/the key) the antenna lead should be the blue wire off the CD. Easy job.

You should be able to get a plug that will directly hook to the old plugs. Try Wal-Mart or the Corvette vendors.

Call Crutchfield and ask. They have a lot of stuff that's not listed (unless they've really, really expanded the online catalog since the last time I dealt with them).
Tornado, You may want to consider an amplifier. You can mount a nice unit against the rear wall and its out of sight from prying eyes. It will really improve sound quality with a little additional 'punch'. Now is the time to do it if your ambitious.
