Removing paint overspray
My chrome valve covers have clearcoat overspray from when my car was recently painted. What is the easiest way to remove this light fog so I can polish up the covers?
Will gasoline remove it?

I suppose it depends on the paint type. Today's 2-part paints
are pretty tough. I'd bet that a little dab of paint stripper on a towel would do it.
Try the gasoline or laquer thinner first .... just watch the new paint.

Clay bars work great for removing overspray on paint. They would also work on a valve cover. (You need to use a lubricant) A polish with a little grit would also work.
