Wayne,
The best part is they don't even touch calipers. They are all built by a guy in Dallas. His race is Sebring lasted all of 1.8 seconds before he crashed.

Ha! Maybe that was payback for never answering e-mails or returning phone calls and taking four months to send a set of calipers out then another 2 weeks to send the pads they forgot to include with the calipers!

I could have bloody well hand made a set of calipers with a file in 4 months. Man I was angry Thanks for telling me that though Mike, it makes me feel a bit better

redvetracer,
Good point except that in a court of law the only defense against Libel or Slander is Truth. If I were to call you a crook (not saying that you are of course) and I could PROVE that you are such, then I would prevail in court since I am telling the TRUTH..
Maybe the vendors are valued more than the members.

I totally understand, except that defending any law suit would cost the owner of this forum money...agreed?? as to vendors being more important than members...look to your left, see all those vendor names?? they pay for that, you and me surf for free.

i don't get the economics of sending heavy calipers back for $30. It must cost $20 to ship each one. Mine are going in the scrap bin at the local dump unless Autozone will give me a few bucks for them.

If you are using anyone other than VBP you are asking for trouble IMHO. VBP pioneered stainless steel sleeved calipers. I put them on my first Vette 25 years ago, and they are still doing it right after all these years. They are not a fly by night garage hobbyist. They have a huge plant, employ alot of people who specialize in what they do, put out the highest quality product and stand behind everything they do. I recently put new calipers on another car and brought my cores in to them sans problems. If you are ever able to go to Carlisle, Bloomington or any of the large NCRS shows stop by and speak to Gary or one of the other folks. You will be glad you did. I am.

It cost me about $15 to send both of my fronts back. Hmm...that's still $85 in return...

If you're in Britain. In the US, they would have to prove that they AREN'T a crook. Burden of proof is never with the defense.

Default Thanks From Vbp & Calipers Cores

I just wanted to thank all the members who posted kind words about us and our products. We appreciate your support and the support of the hobby and that is why we offer Forum members and Corvette Club members 10% on our products whenever we can.

I know core charges and the return shipping charges can add up, but there are still many people who want original style calipers and it keeps the flow going. If the core charge isn't high enough, no one sends them back. We also offer New Delco castings, with our designed O-Ring seals and pistons, and they do not carry any core charges. In the event you want to keep your originals, or do not want to return your cores, or do not have any cores you can opt to buy the new castings. We found this works really well for our International customers also. They have the highest in shipping costs. However, at some later date you are close by our shop/factory or at a show we are attending or want to send them via the postal service, we will buy used, rebuildable cores at $25.00 each to help keep the supply flow going.

Thanks again guys and all of us here at VBP want to wish you all a SAFE, FUN, HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!!

Pattie

What nearly all on the forum fail to understand is that cores is actually a business. By taking the risk of not returning cores it becomes a extra 120+- and add the sales tax on the cores too, it quickly becomes a LOT of money. It does work to lower prices and attract new business though by using core values. Most of their cores are junk yard cores and are just a few dollars each in the quanity they purchase them in. They also inspect your old ones and can easily refuse the cores as "too rusty" ect. Would you want them back? Probably not with heavy freight charges. Now on the otherside in the vendors defense. Sending a bunch of cores to them expecting to have them offset the bill in cores will never happen. And one should realize that fact.

Sounds Like A Lot Of The Same Aggravation I Went Through With That Company. It Was 2 Times In 9 Months They Were At The Seebring. Do They Race More Than Twice A Year? The Secretaries Father Died Twice In 6 Months While I Was Trying To Get My Refunds.i Only Went To Them Because Of The Free Shipping. I Hadn't Known This Site Even Existed Till After All This. I Have Bought Things From Vbp And Service Was Excellant. As To The All Capitols ,i Just Use Capitols Lock On My Keyboard. Much Faster For Me.
