Why do I get the feeling that the 69 is sitting in the garage?

Looks like I'll be filling the Vette, the truck, and the Prelude this weekend. Gonna tell the wife that there will be no money for food until the next payday...

Heh...I've got a feeling that there's going to be a day when I tell my kids, "You kids had it lucky...I remember when I could fill up my car for under $20!"

Yep...

I'm thinking I'm going to sell my DD soon and get me a motorcycle. I figure by the time I do that, it'll cost me $20-$25 to fill up the bike.

And to think I spent $100 in gas to drive up to Walnut Creek to see my GF...Oy! What was I thinking?!?

Sad thing is my vette gets the best gas mileage of my 3 vehicles.

I have a 2000 Acura TL, and if I keep it under 80 on the interstate it gets 35.5 mpg highway only. The car is only rated for 29...I'm not complaining..surprises me though. I get about 27 during the week(I drive a lot of town and highway to work). Car has 122k miles and still runs and drives like new...

Yup ... but prices are levelling here. I just paid 1.86 for regular last fillup.
My Honda CRX has a healthy 45 MPG diet ... should leave a few gallons for the vette.
... and the wife rides her motorcycle every chance she can.
Her Tahoe just might be worse on gas than my vette.

Thanks for stopping by. Just kidding. I contract with Chevron, so that's my income source but you should see the tab when I fill my Suburban. It really hurts.

i took my 33 gal van and filled it up today, and it took 34.465 gallons at $94 to my astonishment. Hmmm a lite went off in me head, 33gal tank took 34 1/2gal. now i know it holds 33gal cuz i installed it 2yrs ago and then preceeded to fill it up and it took 33 gal's. so not only am i getting legally ripped off at the gas station i'm also getting ripped off. i figure i had at least 3 gal's in my tank when i pulled in so i figure i got vacuumed for approx 5gal at $2.73 a gal. so i immediately called and filed a complaint w/weights and measures. am waiting for a reply. anything else i can do? i've got the reciept of the transaction.

I have heard of some setting the pump to roll of some money when you press start, before you even open the nozzle.

Good luck, this is ridiculous. Like they aren't making enough already!!!

Just think of how high those medical bills will be to offset the savings.

Its not gas money!!! It's entertainment funds. Change your thinking..

Anyone would pay 50 bucks to drive a corvette (C3) on a full tank until its empty.

I still see people here driving massive, lifted 4x4's as DD's. I can't imagine their mpg/gas bill.

Oh well...I guess if you don't have a mortgage, filling up your tank isn't a problem.

Yep. Call a tv station and get this put on the air asap. Bad press will put all of those stations in line if they know we're watching out.
