Default some nice undercarriages

I took a few shots of the undercarriages of cars that were on my ramps last weekend
Of the 3 mine is the roughest. While mine is well painted it doesn’t have the detail of paint Doug and Brian have. Both their cars are 383 strokers.

Its not a lift its a solid set of beams that stick out over a drop off. I'm sure he'll post a pic of them as I've seen it before, awsome set up!!

... still want some ramps like these.
Norval's ramps are an extension of a hill ... just drive off the "edge".
I have plenty of areas off my driveway where I could do this.
Someday.

So, what does Brian have for exhaust ? Are those caps to be opened
for racing, or is it a quad after the headers ?

Gotta give Gary the neat award ... with the inherently leaky power
steering assembly still in there - and not a drop of fluid to be seen.

Norval, I can spot many of your innovative custom changes, but what
are the two brackets welded to the frame rails - just at the front of the floorboards ?
They look like receivers for your jack or jack stands.

There's nothing like a quick peek between the rails. Just don't get caught or they'll be calling you a perv.

NHVette, Those "mounts" might be where he tied in his rollcage to the frame. I remember him posting some pics of this as he was going along...but I could be wrong, his car changes every day with new innovative upgrades. I like that idea for a lift....old school pit type.
Kuddos as usual.

They are 16 inch I beams. Hard to believe but they are level side to side and parallel to within 1/8th inch. They are absolutely rigid. You can not drive off the end of the sides. The car is about 5 feet at the front and 30 inches at the back.
I lay a rug under there and it is very comfortable to work on the undercarriage. I can also set up a car because is it level and the sides are parallel. Great place to weld, replace an exhaust, etc etc

Brian has cutoffs to open the exhuast without undoing the header flanges.
Doug/Gary has a spotless car and every part of the car is immaculate, I should post pictures of the guys motors. Both motors are fantastic works of art.
Nothing sounds like Brian's car with it 265 @ .050 duration cam

Those jack spots are actually plates welded to the frame so I had a place to weld the down tubes of the roll cage. The car has many places welded to the frame so the 12 point cage has a place assessable for welding.

They say that true genius is obvious when you see it. Well, I see it here. Very nice Norval. The only negative that I see in this set up is it reminds me of the scene near the end of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

great idea, Norval but one thing i would do is to put a pad of concrete underneath it. other than that, it's pure genius!

Do you have two catalitics in your C3?

Norval,
I salute you for retrofitting cats to your car, very noble of you. Thanks for being environmentally responsible.

I am actually trying to be enviroment friendly. That and the fact that if I am spot checked on the side of the highway it is an automatic $450 fine. Cats cost me $250 or so for the pair and now I am legal. Actually if a cop stops me I am hoping he can find nothing wrong, even an emergency brake that works.
Doug has cats also but Brian doesn't require them on a 73.
If I can do anything ahead of time to appease the cops I will try to do it just to save the hassel.

I'm going to fit cats to mine when I get around to installing headers.
