You took me serious? LMFAO.........

Sorry for the rant but this is getting ridiculous.

To answer your question, NO its not a performance section, its a tech/performance section.
Some people may be as equally concerned about how to prep for, and apply paint and what type of paint to use etc etc. That is a technical question so relevant and in the right section.

If I have a tech question about my C3's or a question/comment about a repair or problem I am trying to fix regarding operation OR performance (ie normal performance behavior), I post it here.

This is a Tech/Performance section...

I agree 100%! To some it may not seem much on fixing a minor problem, but to others it is. To each his own!

If you think Tech and Performance should be separate, you are more than welcome to petition the site owners to split it up that way.

If you don't like reading threads about making repairs to 20+ year old cars (many of which need quite a bit of repair), you are more than welcome to not click on those threads.

If you just can't stand it, you are also quite welcome to leave. It's sad to lose people who might have something to contribute...but if they just can accept reality, then we're better off without those people.

I have a 69 Vette, a 69 Mustang and a 00 Z28 LS1. I belong to forums for each of the cars. The Mustang forum just recently broke up into tech and non-tech sub-forums. The Camaro forum is broken into subsets to address suspension, power train, induction, paint and finish, drag racing, etc. It's like a whole bunch of little separate worlds over there and people don't move from one to the other. This one is, of course, broken into tech/perf and general. My own feeling is that the old Mustang forum with everybody in one place was more like a bunch of buddies hanging out at the local garage. Everyone was interested in the cars but they also shared other parts of their lives. I learned a lot of non-Mustang related stuff purely by accident on that forum. Unfortunately, some very self important people who thought their time was somehow being impinged on because they had to skip over the stuff they didn't deem suitable to read, griped and moaned until the webmaster broke the thing up and it's never had that same garage bull session feeling since. I've found this forum quite friendly and beneficial as a new guy, but I see you have the same **** types here that seem to feel that only the things they are personally interested in should be discussed. This is, apparently, a problem with sharing that should have been addressed by their mothers long ago. All of you PERFORMANCE buffs need to get over yourselves. You might learn something.

I suppose I should have been a bit more specific. From my perspective which is of course not the same for everyone I look to the general section for info about non performance items such as wiring, seat belts (not a harness) repair of stock gauges etc...

However as it's been pointed out the section does read technical/performance not tech performance.

Have fun

well there is an engine mod section but unfourtunatly not a lot of people post there. It is just as important to me that my brakes work right as it is that my engine dosen't grenade at high RPM. I have asked about BBC blower motors when i was building one, mild 327 build when i was doing that, and questions about my newest high RPM small block build. I have received a lot of help here in this section. I will ask about the fiberglass work when that starts to.
Thanks All.

Anything needed as far as info to keep a 30+ year old car on the road and the smile on my face is a technical issue. A general issue might be where to find local clubs, what members live near me etc... I like the forum the way it is set up... and many thanks to all you members who have helped me sort out technical issues from the nose to the tail of my car. I only hope that I have helped a few folks as well.

Default Speaking of performance and tech tips

As you allwill recall, a few weeks back someone posted a poll, which was followed by a prolonged discussion on the topic.
The majority of the people seemed to agree that changing a tire could be a technical problem if you don't know how to get the locks off that came with your used car. This also became a performance issue because the car just does not go as fast, or handle as well with flat tire. My stock motor outperforms my neighbors VW bug, hands down. No mod's needed. No one else on the block has a running car. My mother died many years ago, and she whined a lot. She never posted here. My cat had kittens. Sh'e done 110 mph in my 76 but not my 84. She doesn't seem to like the 84 very well. Actually, I don't really care for thye 84, so I gave it to the little woman. In a technical discussion, she really isn't that little. They are putting a Family Dollar store on the corner of my street. This is a real performance killed because no I will have to watch for people pullin out of their lot as I floor my car down the road. Performance is an illusionary term. My 1200 road bike will out perform most of the cars I drive by,and it is stock. One of my cats can outperform the other cats in the hood, since most of the kittens in the hood look like him. He performed well.
On a technical note, we have discussed this issue several times in the last few years, and other than a few folks, most agree that leaving things alone is fine with them. We are each entitled to our own opinions, and that is great. I think perhaps once every other month we should have the mod post a thread 'What I don't like about the board". That way, people who need to vent can do so. On a performance note, it has been suggested by others that if one applies more torque at a higher volocity on the scroll wheel, post go by faster. It might be possible to attach a 383 stroker to a mouse for really fast browsing. One the other hand, flat spotting the ball inside some mouses will decrease performance in scrolling. Off topic subjects might include proper beer pouring tecnique(might be technical question). Either way, this subject has been covered pretty well at least twice this year. Would it be possible to wait until 2007 before it is brought up again? I think perhaps a rocken-socken robots contest would help reduce the stress level for fellow forum members. Happy New Year Everyone!

Yes, I'm black. Got a problem with that? Based on your English, however, I'd say graduation to "whigger" would be an achievement for you.
