A Corvette would not survive 2 minutes on an indian street (This i can guarantee you) I have been there. A thousand cyclists, people and animals walking on roads, curious onlookers who like to touch the car, agressive motorcyclists on 125cc bikes, no traffic rules, tons of dust, heat, scratches and to top it off, holes the size of moon craters every so often on the roads. Don't forget "Heavy RAIN"
Thank god for America and it's sane roads. (comparatively)
Believe me when I say this.. a "Hyundai SONATA" is considered a luxury car in India. I kid you not.
Mercedes are just for the super rich in India !!!

i hear you...i lived in asia for many years and ...same thing, with narrow roads.. As hectic and conjested as it was, i found the drivers to be alot more considerate letting people in and out to keep traffic moving, than here in the states...just my opinion....
If I had to drive in India for two minutes, I would probably kill around 27 people
Yes, and end up losing your vette...
If you run down someone in India, especially in a rural area, or a poor neighbourhood, mobs gather and there is a lot of hate directed to the guy in the expensive car (or just any car) because they see them as rich killing poor (People with a lot of money usually end up bribing their way out of anything) and the mob might end up smashing the car or burning it, (hopefully without you in it).
I would NEVER want to live there again and drive a decent car.

Those videos do not support that. I looks like the bigger vehicle always has the right of way.
hell i live in south TX and the roads here sometimes can be just as bad as those overseas. not so much with crowding and horrible drivers (there are quite a few though) but the road quality is HORRIBLE! Infact, the city is re-doing some of the busy streets in my town and a couple of them have just been covered with tar and gravel, no asphalt. so every 75 or 100 ft there is a man-hole cover that comes about 4-6 inches off the road. last night i didnt see one of them and hit it head on. wow my car jolted so bad i thought i had ran over a person or a large animal. i hope i didnt break something $$$$

Check the tire that hit it. You probably damaged the tire and maybe the wheel. Unfortunately, the tire damage may not show up until later when the side wall blows out. Ask me how I know....
The last video is amazing. All of that crossing traffic going willie-nilly and no one gets hit. They may drive crazy over there , but they know how to stay out of trouble.

Maybe, but every so often (very often) there is a crash...
I would count atleast 3-4 a day just outside my window when i was in India. That is not counting fender benders or getting clipped.
another statistic that may surprise. about 50% of the drivers on the roads there are unlicenced. if a cop catches you without a license, you just have to fork over a 100 rupee note (even 50 rupees will do)... and you can go on your way. 100 rupees is = $2

Watch the last video....you'll see a bus giving way to a moped and a car......the only way to describe driving there is organized chaos....and they don't get stressed about it.....people down here would be beating the crud out of each other....
.....don't need roller coasters in those countries.....I took a 30 minute cab ride when I was in China....the most exciting dollar I ever spent.....
From: Oakville ON "Real Corvettes have folding tops..."
I worked for 2 years in Indonesia. I bought an old Holden while I was there. Australian Chevrolet. Traffic was just like that only worse. No lane dicipline and 5 to 10 cars went through every redlight before the traffic stopped. Then cars and bikes all crouded to the stop line as wide as they could the light turned green. Family of 5 rode on a honda 125.
A bodyshop would be a good business if anyone had any money.
I'm Half Indian (asia) and Half Portuguese.
Youre right... Being the resident expert on India here I can tell you that body shops are always full of cars and bikes for pulling dings out... but there is really no money in it...
removing a ding would cost about 400 rupees.. (thats about $8)
plus, they dont really do sch a good job, unless you go to one of the more expensive places.. and trust me on this... the concept of "customer satisfaction"... DOES NOT EXIST there...

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
