PO supplied me with a poly sway bar bushing kit for the vette
when i bought it from him.
attached is a photo of the bar to frame grommets
next to the original unit that came off.
is this right ??????? or did he get the wrong set?
the hole in the original is huge compared to the replacement.
Tony, seriously? my bar looks to be a lot larger than that hole
and if i use it looks like the bar will bind as soon as i snug the clamps
to the chassis
Front bar is 7/8" for stock 78 .... 1 1/8" for FE7 suspension option.
FE7 will have the optional rear sway bar ... which is 9/16".
Maybe they are for the rear ... if you have one.
and my bar is either 3/4 or 11/16 looking at my photos
again here at work i believe its the 3/4 but all he had in stock
was the 11/16 so i took them on the outside chance that they
were the right ones.
since i deal with them all the time the asst manager said if its not
the 11/16 to call him this evening and he will have the 3/4 waiting for
me tomorrow and do a direct swap out for me.
my car doesnt have a rear bar and its weird but on the box that the kit came in if i remember right does say front sway bar kit but its definitely a 9/16 bushing so it has to be a rear as i have never seen a 9/16 front bar on any american car.
either way it will definitely be back off the jack stands once again by this weekend just in time for all the rain.

A dial caliper (which costs less than the gas you spent driving back/forth to AutoZone) will put all this to rest in about 34 seconds...

Tony,
i was sure it was 3/4 (and it is) but all he had was the 11/16 in stock
so i went with them hoping(but knowing that they were too big) they would work.
in any case already called him and he will have them in tomorrow by 1pm
for the swap out just in time for the weekend of rain we have coming here in NJ. well at least it will be off the jackstands again and with any luck i wont be leaking PS fluid all over the place anymore.

by the way i have to drive a little for my job and my route takes me right past the advance auto every day so at least it isnt costing me extra gas $$$$$$$$$$$$
