Default vin help

Can you guys help me with this vin on a vette I just purchased. I would like to know what engine came in this car originally. Vin is 1z37k2s504194. Also the number on the block is ce3a463 and also has a 01 on it, thanks for your help!! By the way it is a 72

The vin on a 72 will not tell you what motor was in it. A CE block is a chevy replacement motor. Not sure how to decifer the ce no. for size or hp.

Yes it will. The 5th digit, K indicates a base 200 HP 350. You can't tell what type of transmission was originally installed from the VIN, but if you have a removeable crossmember then the trans was originally an automatic.

72 is the first model year of corvettes that included engine info in the vin. (Not sure about other GM cars)
