Looking to add power to the door on my 1970. How do the wires run between the door and the jamb? Do they fit through a tube or is it part of the wiring harness? Pleas post some pics of what it should look like.
What tube? Does that mean it is not part of the harness? Thats the pic I am after.
This will be for custom power locks and I am redoing the entire electrical system in the car.
The wires are part of the power window harness and go through a rubber tube between the door and the front jam. I just picked up the tube from Zip Products and installed one myself. Easy to do. Wires go through a hole above where the kick panel goes, through the tube and into the door, then along the bottom to the window motor. If you need pics, let me know and I'll try to take some tonight.
It is just a rubber flexible boot that leads from the door pivot/hinge area to the body and I am almost positve you route the wires through the dash into the center console.
I will be doing the same thing ... glad I have a set of originals.
$15 for a rubber tube, and it won't even prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
Thanks for the links and pictures. I am going to be completely rewiring the car late summer and will be adding a new fuse panel, new gauges, power locks, and a passive keyless entry. Just trying to get all the little details sorted out before I start.
