how are the door panels attached on my 71? the ones that came with the car had theese huge screws holding them on, right thru the face of the panel. I have seen some sort of clip for sale how does that work? my new panels only have the velcro llike pieces on them.
Theoretically, those velcro pieces should shap into similiar pieces on the door itself.
I've never seen those clips come close to snapping together. Believe it or not, those screws through the face of the old door panel are original. There should be three total, one at the upper front panel and two at the upper rear of the door panel. Along the bottom, there should be two clips that attach to the door panel and screw into the bottom of the door.
On my 68 coupe I have one screw at upper front and one at upper rear and then one each on the front and rear clips on the bottom, and all of my Velcro tabs line up perfectly.
With the 4 screws and the Velcro tabs, you should be good and secure.
