Yeah, I gotta finally finish putting my bloody car back together! Big project - sound insulation (Damplifier Pro) and Reflectix EVERYWHERE, new carpet, sound system (Kenwood HU and Infinity Reference speakers), F-body seatbelts, and a few minor things like cleaning headlight switch, lubing speedo cable, and fixing the damn leak in my fuel fittings The car's been apart for a long time now ('cause of the school year), but I've been working on it the past two weeks most of the time I've been at home. Very close to getting the carpet completely done, then I have to do the seatbelts, fix the fuel fittings and get the speedo cable back in the tranny. Other than that it'll just be reassembling the dash and console pieces...can't wait! Finally finished cutting the center bezel to fit the CD player - took me literally a week because of my stupid cordless Dremel. I should be done with everything Saturday or Sunday

Anyone use any spray-on applications?
Let us know on the end results.
Good luck.

The thickness of the Reflectix won't make a difference. It's a heat barrier, not a sound barrier. It's designed simply to reflect incoming heat waves, the bubble wrap inbetween the foil sheets is just dead air space.

That's what I'm going for myself... Less heat. I LIKE the noises I hear!

Hah, I like some of the noises, but wind/tire/other vehicle noises are not among them Hence why I stuck down the Damplifier Pro everywhere...

remember, "GREEN SIDE UP"

Getting a little too hot to spend much time in the garage here. I'll probably putt around on the frame, bolting my rear suspension pieces in, etc.. but just a couple hours a day.

Default Tires and right rear wheel bearing replacement

I got my new tires all mounted and balanced and I got the old bearing out today and everything cleaned up. The hard part is done now.

The shock mount was a real pain to get out.
PB Blaster sure proved itself

Bright and early tomorrow morning I will be installing the rebuilt bearing and buttoning everything up.

Many thanks to Van Steel for the rebuilt bearing. Prompt service and a nicely done product

Got the reflectex in yesterday and got everything back together. I only pulled carpet to the seats, pulled the console, sill plates, emergency brake cover and left and right kickboards.

I used right at a half a roll of the reflectex and got the floors and console area covered. Everything went back together good and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Really cooled things down well! Where before the console would heat alot and the floor would get uncomforable, now is very bearable. Really worked well for my Summer quick fix.

I now plan on pulling all carpet, front to back and getting a new set this winter. While do that, I plan on a complete cover and glueing of it front to back. Also want to rewire a lot and rescrew most everything with proper sizes throughout.

Default That's how I started and...

Two years later I had a completely new interior! I found pop rivits, bolts, cigarette butts and other trash from the assembly line workers.

I had to completely strip down the interior shell, painted it and applied a full covering of dynamat. It is reaally quiet now!

Saturday, I pulled the vacuum tank out of the car and discovered that the only way to get the bumper backing bar out is to take off the urethane bumper cover. Unfortunately, a P.O. decided to glass over all the seams, so this would have meant messing up the bodywork. Since the vacuum tank was the problem, I decided to stop there. Last night, I worked until 1:30 a.m. to get the replacement vacuum tank installed. Not a job I would care do do again. My hands and arms look like I was fighting with a cat. I also have a hex-nut shaped burn on my elbow from laying my arm on top of the front sway bar nut that had just come out of the impact wrench. It's a nice feeling to know that the job is done, though!

Building a fence and clearing away scraggly old plants to make way for new ones, doing some entertaining later today, all the while boosting my stock in Bud

Can't do a thing to the Vette till my new heads get here.
I suppose I could push it out of the garage and wash it
