Also what are some good shows near the end of the summer, and year that are a must.
Mid-America is at Effingham, Illinois. If you go to the FunFest, you will want to see Mike Yager's collection of Corvettes. He has some truly rare cars.

It's a very fun time. Last year the Beach Boys put on a concert on Saturday night. There were something more than several thousand Corvettes in attendance. You'll have a good time.
Corvettes at Carlisle is a must especially if you are looking for parts. They have a huge swap meet area. Also in PA, so it can't be too far from you. It is the weekend of 8/27. Myself and about 6 or 7 other cars will be caravanning up from central VA.

I've been to FunFest. It is a HUGE car show! Not many vendors, just the folks MidAm deals with. But it is definately a fun time and worth the trip. I've driven there twice from the Philly suburbs. Takes about 13 hours.
You are about 1 hour from Phoenixville, PA which is the site of the 3rd Annual Corvettes for a Cure on 7/23/06. Here's a link to info for that: http://www.CorvettesForACure.com
