Default Paging Bankok Dean

Hey Dean I stopped by Nicky's Handlebar at Patong Beach. We ate/ drank there, checked out the Vette, GTO and Hogs but Nicky wasn't there. I'll send you some pics if you IM your email, (ship's internet too slow to post pics at sea) Anyway it was cool, haven't seen a Vette in 5 months. I got some photos of me sitting on your old Captain America bike. That GTO is a sweet ride. The white 69 BB ragtop Vette will undoubtedly come out nice whenever Nicky's done. It looks like he just started on it, engine, tranny removed and tore apart for rebuild but the car has definite potential.

Well anyway thanks for the heads-up about the bar. I left some ship's ballcaps and coins with Kris Pansook for Nicky.

By the way I'll be home early, 22 June, flying out of Guam to open a rack (bed) for some inbound riders (ship's guests). Works for me, get home 2 weeks earlier than everyone else and back home for my 40th birthday and first anniversary that I would have othewise missed.

Home soon!

I thought you would like the place. Too bad you missed Nickey he is a great guy. The 69 vert will be something else when he finishes it. The old Captain is not as nice as when I droped it off nearly 4 years now.

I hope you and your ship mates enjoyed your R+R in Phuket.

hey dean, i guess you've been living in thailand for quite a lot, am i right? i've been in thailand for business at least 40 times in the last 15 years (i live ,when there, in nanglincheed road in bkk just opposite the italian embassy...) and always beeing there made me incredibly sad and lonely from the 4th day on...it's maybe the way thais have to put pharangs into a golden ghetto with their apparently open mind and sweet smiles? or the deep covered racism against western people (i could tell you plenty of stories..like a teacher loosing her job in a children school because the director saw her with me out one night... ) that drives me crazy? by the way, i've noticed japanese look taller when in bkk then when they come for tourism to europe, and not only because they look bigger if compared to thais then if you compare to european but also because they 'feel' bigger there, instead when they come to italy they walk so low that they look half of what they really are

I have lived here since 85 and at one time lived on Soi Yanakat close to nanglincheed road. My wife once worked at Reo residence hotel in reception when she graduated university.

The Thai Thaïs in general nice gentle people, but in any big city world wide there are people you want to stay away from. But how many big cities can you walk down any small street and no one bothers you. If you need help someone will volunteer to assist.

In the country side the Thai’s really are the best you can find any where in the world. Plus the girls are fine looking and have killer smiles.

You see it is not legal to import used cars into Thailand and some get smuggled in but there is no legal way to register them. But the owners still want big money for them, I bet if you asked to buy this car the price would be $18,000 as is. So it rots until the building wants it removed, but the building owner is probably the owner.
