Default I Give Up...

I give up on pressuring the mechanic to have my car painted. See this thread---> http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1381542

The painter doesn't want the job and the mechanic won't pay the bill if I take it to Davies (local Vette paint shop).

The last words I said to him were, "Go **** Yourself." Like poetry, no?

I won't go to court (long story), so I'm thinking of a way to get revenge legally.

Any ideas?

Pissed Off, Les

I think legal revenge is an oxymoron. Good old fashioned revenge is a fun topic around here though.

I just read you bio and the origional thread. You just need a pep talk!! If you let this sorry phicker slide he will continue to do this to people again and again. As you said in your bio STICK TO YOUR GUNS! Certainly you know a lawyer or someone who does. Get some legal advise but don't take the law into your own hands cause this scum is probably waiting for someone to lay a hand on him so he can sue. Have you ever heard about the six word commencment speach that Winston Churchill gave at Harrow School?

Never Give Up! Never give up! And then he sat down.

That sucks bro. Small claims court could end up costing you more than the repair job, so it might not even be worth it. What about just calling the police? Might be worth a shot.

Unless you have proof in writting or with a witness, the police will only take a report. Nothing will come of it. Small claims court, if you represent yourself is fairly inexpensive, but in order to win, you have to prove he was at fault. Then try to collect if you win, not as easy as you may think.

I have a witness. My girlfriend was there when I picked up the car.

He admitted that he damaged the car and was willing to pay for it.

Unfortunatly, I think that is still a case of he said - he said/she said. Your words against his. Do you have anything in writing, or an email, or a saved voice message?

That's not he said/she said aka hearsay.

Hearsay would be if I brought my girlfriend in as a witness and her testimony was based on what I told her as opposed to what she heard for herself.

I have nothing in writing. I should have recorded a conversation.

What about your insurance company, call them explain the situation and maybe they will go after the shop's insurance company, your car was damaged at their shop, you have a witness, worth a try

That sounds like an idea worth trying.

Default Hurt him where it hurts the most

Park your self in your car outside his place of business with a sign, a big sign detailing why you are there and what he wont do for you,, after he agreed to. A video camera would be a good idea, down in N.Y.C. there is a guy on the evening news that goes after the bassads that routinely screw the consumer, anything like that up your way ? First I'd check with City Hall to see how legal a sit-in would be. Good luck,,,Peace,,,Moosie

Tell the US Military his shop is serving as an Al-Quida safe house. You can have him taken out Al-Zarquawi style!

Seriously though, good luck with the car. That really sucks.

What about Silverman or someone like him. Give him a call and see if he can help, he hates people like the shop owners who are screwing you ?

Nothing would screw up this guy's life more than you showing up at his place of business with a picket sign on a busy Monday morning. I bet you a pizza you get your money to fix the 'Vette before 2 hours go buy.

Well that's an idea, park your car outside, get a cardboard sign that reads "They smashed my car and they won't fix it " and put the sign right beside the damage.

How could the guy say anything that would help him ?
