Default water pump?

i know i asked before....but

i need a new water pump.... i currently have a short w/p and would like to get a long w/p so i can have more pulley/bracket options....

how much longer is the long wp from the short wp

also i was told i would have to notch the frame for the mech.fan to clear....... what if i went to a smaller dia fan?

i found a few pulley/bracket setups but most of the small black ones are for long water pumps...wtf...... i would like to upgrade to ele fans later but for now and for the rest of this year i'll have to run a mech fan....

i might go with a cog setup with a vbelt for the power steering

The frame shouldn't be an issue. Big blocks are quite bit longer than small blocks and fit just fine.

As for the measurement, just go to the parts store and have them pull out one of each. Take your measurements and you're good to go.

On my Vette the shaft is different than a standard model. Something you might consider. Larry
