Yes, Cory she decided to go for the PA first. Seems to be a field "in demand." She'll go 5 years, the last 3 are year round and she'll have a BS and Masters degrees at the end.
She still has a desire to go to Med School too. We'll see if that wains.
I think we'll foot half the bill and leave her with some loans. I have another daughter graduating next year too. She's thinking of Pharmacy School at the same University.
My son is starting this fall also.At first he chose a private University, but the reality finally hit.He would have a hugh debt to repay in the end.So now it will be the University of Oregon. With his acedemic scholarships, and the VA pitching in,he should be able to get through without any debts.Sure hope so !!!!!!

I still have a lot of parts in the garage Howard, maybe that'll hold me over. I'm almost ready to start the rear end.

I tried to talk her out of "dorm" life. $7,000 just for room and board. We live 30 min away and my wife agrees that the daughter should live on campus. I said $7,000 a year x 5 years would make one hell of a nice car!!! That's 350Z territory.
I live with 3 women and there's no reasoning with them. Guess I'll have to continue working 2 jobs.
Been there, done that. I feel like I have a part ownership at UK and WKU and I don't even watch the Wildcats play basketball. It was nice having two of my daughters home for the weekend, but the thing I'm really proud of is the fact they are all successful and on their own.
You'll make it Len, and the girl will make you proud!
You are making a great investment - I feel your pain as well with one at CO State (Junior) and another 3 yrs away - not sure where he will go yet. It seems like your car is pretty dialed in, so I guess you'll just have to drive it
too bad you dont live in GA. We have the Hope Grant. It allows any GA student who has a B avg or higher to attend school almost free. Its paid for by the state with lottery money. One good thing about GA.
Does anyone know if SC has that yet? I'm threating to move back if they do since my daughter starts ninth grade in August.

Well best of luck to her, I'm sure she'll do fine. Private school tuition sucks, I have 4 degrees and busted knuckles to prove it.
One of my buddies has a son at Kettering University (formerly GMI). During the first two years, he didn't have a co-op employer and dad was footing the whole bill. This year he found a good co-op gig - paying $42K a year.

I wish I lived in Georgia. I want to go to Georgia tech, but it is 30k a year for out of state students.
Money saving tip.....will your daughter have a need for a car while she's in school? If not you might think about taking her off the car insurance policy. We tried but our insurance co. said if the school is within one hour drive time they wouldn't remove our son. Worth a try! WB
I know how you feel.My son spent 4 years at a private collage at 25,000 per year but recevied 13,000 per year to play baseball. He just graduated from John Carol University in Cleveland with a Masters degree. He got to go there for free to coach the baseball team.Keep those kids in sports. It helps.
i know how you feel i have 2 kids going to college one start next year the otherone the year after, the good thing its they are going to rutgers university(state school)and its only 20k a year each but then they want to go to med-school and that is mucho mucho dinero, thank god for real estate(i did good in the blooming days)
been there! my oldest girl just got her p h d,,,and her younger sister just got her masters,,hopefully the'll leave my pockets alone now
Been there also. Pockets are never left alone, or your time.Daughter that graduated 3 years ago bought a condo , that Dad has constantly worked on, which she is selling now and having a house built, but is staying with us in the meantime. Other daughter just came home for the summer, has one more year and never has any money , and I sure dont know why. Seems my wife gives her more each month than I can spend. Just RANTING. Someday maybe they will be self sufficient and I will be able to aford to have meat sauce with my spagetti again. Oh well I guess I wouldnt want it any other way ..........LT
