Default No C3 money for a while.

My daughter is starting college in August. My wife thinks we can pay for the whole shootin match. Hell, even coming up with $10,000/year will be tough.....tuition is $34,000 and she did get a small academic scholarship.

So no car parts for a while.

Good thing I built that engine when I did.

too bad you dont live in GA. We have the Hope Grant. It allows any GA student who has a B avg or higher to attend school almost free. Its paid for by the state with lottery money. One good thing about GA.

Been there buddy, still got 1 year left. Four year degrees it seems take five years now. I was fortunate that Michigan offered an education plan and 18 years ago I sold a '42 Pontiac and bought 3 years of credits through the plan. I was stupid not to buy the 4th year, but I thought my daughter could work and pay. Ha! Who thought each semester would cost 3k back then. That's more than she can make part time. Oh well, I keep telling myself, one more year. You'll make it through.

Ouch, that hurts. Tennessee has a scholarship program funded by a lottery. So far Michael has kept is grades up through his first year. We will see how it goes in his second year. Micheal is also going to a community college the first two years to get all the basics plus they have smaller classes there and it is not so hard on the wallet.

Boy Jughead, It must have really put you in the poor house quick. I see you have gotten rid of your bow-flex machine and have gone back to over-alls and having to hunt for food. I liked that avatar better anyway.

Hi,
My oldest is starting college this fall. My wife and I will pay for half of the tuition, the rest is up to him. I said to my wife that I would probably have to sell the Vette, but she insisted that I keep it. A nice jesture on her part, but it is tough to see where the tiution money is going to come from. I graduated from college in 1980, then you could pretty much cover your tuition if you had a good summer job. Tuitions have gone up so much, there is no way kids today can earn 30,000!
I feel your pain.
Tom

Get a pie plate, paint a mustang on it, get in the vette, go down to the range and blast that thing full of holes, you'll feel better.
Btw, your car is awesome as is

As soon as I talked my parents into taking me off their taxes as a dependent, I was able to get enough loans to cover everything. The APR on mine is just under 3% if I recall.

I am so glad I got a job that will reimburse my tuition! I would feel like a leech if I asked my parents to pay.

But I give you for giving her the opportunity that a lot of kids don't have!

I know the pain Jughead. I put 2 kid through college (son 28 & daughter 24). Daughter finished 2 years ago - what a relief.

Somehow, it gets easier after the first year (not sure why). After it is over, you will be amazed at all of the extra money you have. Good Luck.
