There is a forum member with a '69 (I think) that a previous owner added the fastback rear windown. It is a black car that looks really good in my opinion.
these cars you can build anything you want and make it look factory.
Since ive killed the value of mine guess i shouldnt add the side pipes now.
I have to say I really like the idea of a convertable conversion. I think I'll look into that. I guess it really dosnt matter about value anyway when you start with a $3000 car. Its just after you dump another $25,000 in to it, you like to think you can get more than 12,000 back out.
It was a specific question with a specific answer. Any modification done to a collectible car that isn't easily reversible will, in general, lower the value. A modification like that will certainly cost a lot more than anybody would be will to pay for should he decide to sell. It's often difficult to find a buyer for a modified car at the same price as a stock one in similar condition without taking the extra into account. Just ask onaqwst. He's got a nice ride, but knows that he would be hard pressed to sell it for anywhere near what he's got into it, even with him doing a lot of the labor.
Thing is, that's not what it's about. If you want to customize it your way, do it. It's your car, do what makes you happy. He asked if it would kill the value, and it would. Hardly a response worth a ""

Plenty of modifieds out there that sell for good money. It's a matter of doing good work and not doing something bizzare that no one wants.

I don't really care if I ruin the value of my car. I haven't sold one of my cars that I like alot in around 25 years. I had to sell my first 71 to build my first house 25 ears ago.
