I believe the black one is the voice data recorder. Not sure about the other one.

Well, the black thing is the buzzer for all your buzzing needs. Seatbelts,ignition key. Not sure what the white thing is for, tho.
edit. OK, this is a guess. Is there a tan and red wire to the white thing? Headlight warning buzzer.

the black box is the ignition key buzzer---this is what I told you to unplug to see if your short went away.remove conn. with pink and orange wires

If you have cruise the brake light switch is also a cruise disconnect unplug cruise portion plug and try.It is also hot with key on.

If none of this works disconnect the turn signal switch conn. the flat one with around 10 wires and see if short stops if it does that will isolate a few things.

Since each year of Corvettes are just a little bit different it would be nice to include the year of your car in the post just to be a bit more clear and get better advise. I have a '71 and don't have either of those boxes that I know of.......at least not in that location.
