Nice looking vette. As far as the nut rubbing on the hood, I installed a allen head bolt in mine so nothing is sticking up. Remove the stud from the car and use the allen head bolt. Works good. I just have to use those attachments that go with the magnetic screwdriver that I have so many of.
The passenger's side extreme front of the hood contacts the headlight vaccuum housing a little bit...just enough to scuff the paint if I don't do something. Can this be bent a little bit, or adjusted? It's the part where the hose attaches that's rubbing when the hood's opened/closed.
This is due to the aftermarket replacements being just a bit larger in size....the rear rubber hose will hit thefront edge of the hood.
You can move the hood back as there are no adjustments for the headlight actuator...trust me....I know...I have the same exact problem.
I had to move the hood back...now it doesn't line-up as nice as it should.
Guess you could try to remove the headlight assembly and bend the frame forward. I did not try this as I just did not want to take the entire headlight assembly out.
Really nice looking car....have a white 81 myself....
I'd run the VIN number through your local police real quick if I was you...CAUSE YOU STOLE IT!!!
If I thought I could buy a vette in that kind of shape for $7,000 then I'd give up on what looks like $5,000 of repairs my 50,000 mile '75 that I paid $11,500 for in 2001 and just buy another one.
