Default Stainless mounting

Yes, you should get them. I changed to the tru-flex and you can't use the original mounting system. I used the stainless kit and the change was very easy. Align one side and pull the other in place. It fit very well. I did add just a skim coat of filler to one side to make it come out perfect.

Yes buy them. Bumper molds from various manufacturers are differently shaped. I used an ACI fiberglass bumper and was able to re-use the original retainers, but you won't know until you are ready to mount it. If you have a '75 or newer, these pal nuts (available at most auto paint stores) will help keep the retainers in place while you are pushing the bumper in place.
