Windshield Wiper Help Needed
I have a 1970, small block. I am having trouble with the windshield wipers. When I go to turn them on, the wiper door opens up (most of the time...I think I have a small vacuum issue also, but that's a different story), but the wipers never go.
I'm not sure if there is a fuse in the electrical circuit...or if the motor is just shot, etc. Any advice on where to start looking for these parts and how to trouble-shoot.
Getting behind the dash really intimidates me...I'm afraid I'll never get it apart without breaking something, and if I do...I'll never get it back together to look tight and nice and neat (and work properly again).
Thanks!

Check the "park" **** under the dash. It is the round **** between the two override pull switches.
Someone had parked my wipers in the down position, so my wiper door would open but the wipers would not move. Simply turning the **** put me back in business, I hope it is that easy for you....

What is the purpose of this "park" *** under the dash? Why would someone want to turn that? I will try that tomorrow.
I haven't used my wipers in a couple years (because of this problem). I hate to sound stupid...but where do I look to find the wiper motor to try spraying that lubricant you mention?

Also check that the wiper door open switch is being made. It is located on the firewall next to the wiper door vacuum actuator. This supplies power to the motor after the door is completly open. Also make sure your wiper motor and the wiper switch on the dash both have good grounds.
