Autozone Timing Light

I just bought the $69.99 Autozone timing light, wich is advance capable. It is a step up from my 1970's static light, which plugged into the wall.

The problem is the new one runs off the battery and obviously they weren't thinking about C3 corvettes with the battery behind the drivers seat becaue the wires aren't even close to long enough. Not a huge problem, because I just spliced the wire and reconnected the battery clips, but if you are going to buy one be aware...

Black clip to metal, red to the alternator terminal, problem solved. Vettes aren't the only cars with the battery out of the engine compartment.

That must have been posted dozens of times. No need to be cutting wires on the timinig light.
