Between 12 and 20 mpg. You can guess when and where.

I have a L-48 bottom with Edelbrock heads, cam, intake and carb. With 3.55 gears I'm getting around 11-13 mpg no matter what I do... at 65mph it's already screaming

The '82s get great mileage due to the 700R4 tranny with OD. I can turn 25 ~ 26 Hwy but only 17~18 in town. FWIW, the Z gets a solid 18 in town and an amazing 29 Hwy...I think it's making gas in 6th gear

When tuned, my '74 L-48 auto got 18mpg, city-highway combined. She was my daily driver for six years.

I miss her and I wish I had her back.

My '80 4 speed with the same final drive gear ratios as your car can pull 19mpg 50% highway/50% city if I'm super light on the throttle and only use 1st and 4th gears

Driving my '70 to Bowling Green (350/350 with 5-speed manual from Keisler) measured 19 on one leg and 22 one other morning. Love that overdrive, 2000 rpm and 70mph.

My 79 with 3.55 gears was about the same until I switched to a Bowtie 2004R. Now I'm 20MPG highway.

This is one thing I don't miss with the vette stuck in the garage.
... just calculated 52MPG from my last fillup of my DD.
I'm thinking of a C4 vert - so I can afford to drive a vette.

Shoulda invested in the Edelbrock 190x carb instead of the 140x

q-jet > carter

My best mileage has been with my q-jet, never seen anyone with the same drivetrain get even close to the same gas mileage I've gotten with it before.

Probably right about 15 average between city and highway on my 75 4spd. However with these cars, I personally prefer to measure it in "smiles per gallon".

Good luck w/your new moneypit!
(and they are all moneypits, at one level or another)
