Question for you C3 guys

The body style is the best in my opinion.
You also have to remember that many of those C6 guys aren't Corvette lovers, just C6 owners.

J/KBut seriously, the C6 is just an awesome machine. But we have all been there with new cars, right. Regardless if it's a new C6 Corvette or a new F-250 diesel pickup, folks expect perfection on new products, and feel the manufacturer is on the hook towards keeping that perfect "new" feeling. "it's what I paid for" right?
C3's on the other hand are so far out of warranty, etc.. that we all know it's up to us to keep it running/looking right. Yeah, we might sub out some of the work, but it's our responsibility - not the local Chevy dealer.
Additionally, C3s are classics - maintaining and driving a classic is a different feeling than driving a new car. We're cruisin' in a piece of history. C3s have lines that transcend the ages. They look as good today as they did in the late 60's when they were seen for the first time. We're all just happy to have a piece of that history.
Many (not all) new c6 owners buy their cars with a different frame of mind. They expect it to be perfect and remain that way even when they neglect or drive the car "hard". ie. race, showoff, have fun....that takes a toll on cars. New owners don't always have the same mentality as older c4 and earlier owners, or many of them would park it in the garage and put about 1000 miles on it a year instead of using it as a daily driver. To them it's just a sweet car.
There is an exception. Those that puttheir c6's in car shows and baby the hell out of it, or those who own another older Corvette and treat their c6 the same as they would their c3/c2/c1...
no matter what c? you drive, you're welcome here.

Still new to owning but ditto. And once I sat in the drivers seat for that first drive and saw the view out over the hood with those big curves over the wheels, I was hooked! I don't think I'll ever get tired of driving it.

BLUSHRK, I have too agree. That is a great attitude. We love our Vettes even the ones that give us head aches.

The new C6 is nice, and if I won the lottery I would buy one, but not until after I bought a 67 Vert to go with my 73 coupe.
I guess I'd be a pissed C6 owner too if I spent $50k and every time I lined my car up at a car show alongside 20 other identical cars, nobody came over to look at them. While a C3 (at a fraction of the cost) will draw ooh's and aah's from old and young alike at the same show.
As stated earlier, it's a completely different group of people. Mostly (but not all) C3 owners seem to be real "hands on car guys" who share a common interest...."I'm working on this..." ...."been there, done that repair"..."try this"...etc.
And it seems that most (but not all) C5,6 owners are first time Corvette buyers who, although they have the money, don't really have the need to crawl under their car at a show and get dirty just to share a repair tip with another C5,6 owner.
You've seen the C3's here. Everything from bone stock, low horsepower cars to radical mods with engines pokin' through the hood. No two are really identical. Maybe the C6 guys are prone to bitchin' 'cause their satisfaction level isn't very high for the amount of invested money.
Why don't you sell your C6, buy 4 or 5 C3's and come on back where you know you can have a little fun?

That is sure to get their attention, sometimes the truth aint always the right thing to say,,,,,Peace, Moosie
I fell in love with a C3 when I was around 14...waited all my life to get it. So, I won't complain since I know what I wanted and was getting. I had no preconceived notion that it was going to be perfect...besides, I enjoy working on it.However, with new cars today, I expect much more and would probably complain if spent money on a C6 and it wasn't perfect.
