Default need more help

for some odd reason my 79 vette dosen't start after i had just driven it, what could cause this, could it be the starter or the distriburator getting hot. anyone know what causes this? pleas and thanks for any help

Joe,
What do you mean by "doesn't start"? Does it crank over but not flash? Or do you turn the key and get nothing?

it doesn't turn over, nothing happens, it shows that there is power, my dad said that it could be the distriburator

i wonder how much a high performance starter and distriburator would cost maybe that would solve my starting problems, also like to say thanks for the help and sorry if i don't spell distriburator right

It's not your distributor. If the car will re-start after it's cooled down, you're going to need a new starter.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables at the battery. Tight. Solved my similar problem in my white 79.

If this happens after you've driven it, then it's MOST LIKELY because the solenoid on the starter is too hot. I tried everything from wraps to shields and nothing worked. Replaced with a "mini-starter" and a wrap and she starts every time.
