My buddy and I went out for lunch today and the passenger seatbelt wouldn't unlatch. After some jiggling, it started working again. I've been playing with it tonight and after lots of tries, I got it to fail again. When it fails, the button wouldn't push in cleanly and release the tang. Again, releasing pressure on the belt and jiggling the latch would get it to release. I think I've got the technique down, but I'll have to monitor it and work to correct it in the fall. When jiggled, the buckle on the passenger side has a tiny rattle in it that the driver side doesn not have.
I suspect this isn't repairable and will need to be replaced, right? It looks like the only way to get to the bolt for the latch side of the belt is to remove the seat, yes? Is this one of those impossible to find / horribly expensive original parts? (Ecklers says "Call us.")
