Nice lift.
What brand is it and where did you get it?
How much concrete do you have?
yada yada yada.
Been going around about a damn lift for months!
I'm supposed to go look at a used 12,000lb 4 post lift this weekend.
Somebody just shoot me!

Default Lift

I purchased it from Bend Pak. You need 4" of concrete. I had alittle less, but I did some other support work. Tomorrow I will take some pictures and post them here. You really can't work extensively on a corvette without one. If you have the room -do it!

2. Do NOT get caught up in arbitrary "rules" that you think ALL judges or ALL shows follow. Car show rules change every weekend, and shows are often put on by people who don't know what they are doing. I've judged every kind of car show since the late 70's and I can't give you better advice than to ask questions about judging points, rules and classifications BEFORE or AT each show.

3. There is nothing more cheesy than stuffed animals (not cute), piles of trophies (no, we are not impressed) or stupid witty or off-color (nudies) signs & pictures. Have some taste.

4. Leave the judges alone during judging.

5. Have fun and don't let your life be ruled by the addition of another $3.95 plastic trophy.

I judge NCCC (National Council of Corvette Clubs) shows, no anything allowed on the car especially stuffed animals. Very strict rules which are laid out in the rule book. However, what I think you are talking about are shows put on by other car clubs or fire departments, or churches etc. Rules here go by the way side as has been stated, some of these shows are put on by people who do not know what they are doing or what they are judging. Other times if you go to a show put on by a street rod or cruiser club - forget it - they don't like vettes and you can tell it at trophy time. The presenter seems to "know" every winner and he aint driving a vette, LOL. Judging is subjective, so just clean it up the best you can, inside and out, clean the wheels, wheel wells and the engine compartment if you are going to raise your hood, and clean that glass!

This being said, this is the first year that I have shown my 81 vette. It came in 3rd at an NCCC show, and best of show or best of class at 5 other general shows this season. Not bad so far and the season is only half over. . Best of luck!
