How important is power steering?

I have manual steering and like it. If i were going to consider changing to anything it would be R&P. Like Vette Rx, I was originally gonna convert it, but after driving it a few months and reading all the trouble folks have with Vette power steering, ie; leaks, intermittent power...I forgot all about it. This car drives and cruises great with the stock manual steering. You just sync the accelerator with your steering wheel to make power steering.
