Default Check out my pumpkin patch

We have been raising pumpkins and gourds commercially for the past 7 years. This is our biggest planting so far, slightly over 7 acres. These rows stretched end to end would be over 3 miles long! [IMG][/IMG]

Dentist, Corvette Racer, and Pumpkin Farmer - I am impressed . By comercial, do you mean for food production (canning), or for Halloween pumpkins sold to retailers? The view is outstanding - looks like you live in a pretty area of Kentucky.

We raise 7 or so different types of pumpkins and many different types of gourds for decorating. We sell mostly wholesale but we set-up my car barn for retail sales and school visits.

I heard that profession has a lot of back problems. Is that true, 2th?

BTW, nice place. Some of my in-laws are farmers. They keep us well stocked with produce.

Maybe you can set up a forum "group purchase" around the end of October?

spray ground with CURBIT (herbicide that gives you about 30 days of weed control) then right before the vining occurs cultivate the ground with a 7 foot tractor driven tiller. By this time the pumpkins outgrow the weeds. Especially in a dry year. (we irrigate/fertigate our rows with drip tape)

Is this a commercial product? Where might I buy some? I did find that this is suitable only for "melon crops."

Is that like "Preen?" I'm looking for something for my veg garden.
