At $6.80/gallon how many Corvettes did you expect ??
Porche, big Mercedes, & big BMWs suck lots of fuel too!
BTW - gas is now about $7.50 a gallon. By comparison our gas prices have increased faster than theirs. It used to be that their gas was about the same price per liter as ours was per gallon, but now their price per liter is only about .65 times as much. Still way too high but it does show that oil companies are charging more here than in Europe.
I pay about $1.20/liter here in Canada for 93 octane. With the problems in the Middle East and the hurricane season coming I expect to see about $1.40. Not pretty. Translation is close to $5.50/US gallon.
You would expect to see a few there. Back in the 70's & 80's a lot of the American and Canadian troops had theirs shipped over and ended up leaving them there. The price of gas might have a lot to do with their vanishing act.
i bet you can get a big *** bag of dope or a ***** for the same price.
Weed...yeah probably..I dunno but I don't think it's too expensive with all those damn hippies here smoking that stuff. As for ******...they legalized it but they also taxed it (LOL typical dutch government..tax the ******!) so that means that they have to pay income tax, social security and what not...dem hookers be expensive yo!
I'm currently stationed in southern Germany (40 minutes from Nuernberg) and, in the three+ years I've been here, I've only ever seen a handfull of Corvettes (7-10 different ones at the very most). 99% of the time if you see a Corvette it is owned by an American Soldier and it is a C4 of newer. In the three years I've been here, I've only ever seen two other C3s.
Driving a C3 in Germany is as close as I'm ever going to get to being a rockstar. Even my ratty-looking '79 draws crowds when I park it in public parking lots and I always come back to my car to find people taking pictures of my car.
I might be incorrectly stereotyping Germans, but it doesn't seem that they are into working on their cars as much as Americans are. The few Germans I've met who own a classic have a little bit of extra money and they pay a mechanic to do everything for them. I almost never see classic cars in German, let alone Corvettes.

There are not enough garages.. .. if you live in an apartment somewhere in a city you're lucky if they offer you a garage for $100/month extra..... that garage can be 1/2 mile from where you live
If you own a house with a two car garage over there then you're rich and can afford somebody else working on your car

No, this simply means that your dollar has devalued against the Euro.
