Default valve name

Can someone tell me what this valves name is? Been trying to get one and it seems the parts stores can't get it or a steel fuel line from the pump to rochester carb.....maybe I'm describing it wrong or is it a dealer idem only....thanks

That is the brake booster canister filter, 1978-82. And GM may still stock them. But they have no moving parts. Why do you wish to replace it?

it looks like a filter to me. it might just be an inline filter for the brake booster. the piece that plugs into the brake booster itself is the check valve or pcv valve..... whatever you want to call it. you probobly already know but just incase you or someone else doesnt know the valve that is pluged into the brake booster is a oneway valve that will allow air to flow one direction which is out of the brake booster and then closes if air tries to flow back into the booster that way the booster can hold a vacume.

Do you have a problem with booster vacuum assist ? I ask as I have a real hard brake pedal now,an suspect either that "filter/valve" line or the brake booster itself...(78 Sa)..

Not trying to hi-jack the thread, but where should the other end of the hose plug into on an aftermarket carb? I had an edelbrock and now a holley that neither had the hookup for the engine end of that hose.

What does it do? Hook into the vaccum system to provide vacuum assist to the brakes?

Can it plug into the same manifold port as the headlights/canister/transmission?

It is vacuum assist..I would think you could just hook it up to another source...??

Glad you got that sorted out. But why did you need it? My former 1979 has had one on...since 1979.
