I have my 75 that was recently completed. After spending some time at a show this weekend, I realize mine is not nearly loud enough. I am looking for options to liven it up. I currently have the stock L82 exhaust from a 74 (no cats, 2.5in) and stock mufflers. I would like to install headers and new mufflers, but not sure what the best ones are. What do you guys have / suggest. Thanks
Oh, by the way. The engine is a stock block .030 over, flat top pistons, Edelbrock Performer Cam, Intake and 600 cfm carb.
I have a '75 as well. DynoMax headers with an Allen's 1973, 4 muffler 2 1/2" chambered exhaust with '73 extensions behind a small block crate.
From idle to about 3,000 rpm it sounds exactly like the old OEM '69 sidepipes did, from 3,000 up and at full throttle it's louder but not obnoxious and sounds fantastic.
DynoMax headers fit with no mods to the tubes and the Allen's exhaust fit perfect. You will need to fab pipes from the front exhaust pipe to the headers or have them made.
For performance the Dynomax Corvette SB Cerama-Coat headers fit & flow great, much better than is commonly known. I have been rec. them & many have them now. Use Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers.
