What the hell is this? Is it installed in a Vette or a toilet?

Should be four of them. Part of the optional EHD (Extremely Heavy Duty) power brake package installed on the '83 LT-1s used for ASPCA racing. One on each brake rotor "evacuates" air for brake cooling. NASCAR still uses them. Harriers use the same blower (only larger) for vertical take off and landing.

So that is what the motor looks like in my rear defogger. Yes that is correct my 73' has a rear defogger. I don't know how many of the C-3's came with them. Can't understand why someone would of ordered it in my car. I always joked about it since I purchased my 73' from the original owner and couldn't figure out why the car was ordered with it because instead of maybe ordering power disc brakes in my car the orig owner ordered regular disc and instead of ordering power windows my car has roll-ups and instead of ordering the deluxe interior he ordered the plain interior but yet he orders the car with a rear defogger something I never needed to use ever. One thing for sure. At least he ordered the car with Tilt and Tel, PS and A/C so I shouldn't be too disappointed in the last 24 years of owning it. Well I have to admit owning 2 other C-3's before this car during the 70's and both having leather seats I never cared for the vinyl seats in my 73' so last year I finally replaced them with new leather covers. Even with the standard door panels and standard rug the interior definitely stands out now with the new leather covers and I am happy for making that change.
