I would ground the relays at the nearest available point. You save all that power loss by not using the lengthy wire harness, why ground back to who knows where. I grounded mine to the alternator bracket.
LS-Five - The two light green wires for the high beams both run up the harness and are connected to a common terminal in the firewall connector. Because of the lower current requirement to actuate the relay, one wire will do fine .
If you mounted your relays close to the lamps (good thing ), then utilizing the horn relay mounting bolt is a convenient location for your ground wire .

UPDATE- I finally found time to finish up the relays up tonight. I could tell a significant difference in the brightness and color (more white light) of the lights. This is definitely a worthwhile upgrade that anybody can do. Thanks for the help you guys provided me. This place is great!
