Well i finished the birdcage, and put the windsheild back in, but it set to low and the dash would not click into place, and the gauges dont fit, so i go to take the windsheild back out, and it breaks.
Not unless you tell them you were driving and something hit it. But I wouldn't do that as they can probably tell. Also, 600 for a windshield is a ripoff. Check out some windshield threads and you will find people who got the windshield and installation for around 270-300.
If that happened to me I think the words would be a little stronger than your title of " AHHHH". But then maybe they were.
I dont think that the insurance company would cover this. If they did, then there would be a whole lot of other mistakes that they would be asked to cover also. I guess you just have to eat the cost, and go with a different windshield.
I was just taking the trim off my front glass and it cracked. I was/and still am PO'd. Im going to need a new front glass soon and I was thinking I could find one for the 275 to 350 range. If you find a cheaper one let us know and post please.
Yeah 600 bux is high and I wouldnt pay it but if the glass is super cheap you stand the chance of having lots of distortion in it,,,luck of the draw I guess. Cheaper aint always worth it,,, Peace,,,Moosie
Broke a perfectly good windshield taking it out of my 68 while I was restoring it, had it replaced for a shade under $200 if I remember right.
Then I cracked that one as I was tightening a moulding screw, so I had another one installed(same guy installed it). So far I seem to be OK with this one, but I've already got a rock chip in it
Maybe windshields ain't my luck either.......
