Less weight for sure, alum heads will handle more CR while keeping detonation under control. If you aren't worried about weight or high compression, but are worried about cost containment then by all means use iron heads. Modern iron heads can have exceptional flow.

Less weight than cast iron head 427...runs cooler...9.6:1 (pump gas) 567 FT LBS Torque..roller cam...much more...and all you will need is a jockstrap...
